Cole Guides Hudson to Baron Cup I Semi-Finals, Explorers beat Midview 3-2

By: Cole Liggett

Brooklyn, Ohio – It was a packed house inside the John M. Coyne Center for the ice battle between the 8-2-0 Hudson Explorers and the 7-3-0 Midview Middies. As you look on the ice, the Midview Middies rocked the white and blue jerseys with black shells while Hudson Explorers hit the ice with navy and blues with black shells.

All players put their emotions onto the ice as it was a physical matchup all three periods as the Hudson Explorers win a close one against the Midview Middies with the final score of 3-2 victory.

Hudson started of red hot and hit their first goal at the 4:45 mark from senior Chandler Koysous to give his team a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Two minutes into the second period, Middies Kyle Nagel hits his second goal of the season to make it 1-1. Shortly after, the Explorers explored Midviews’ zone and hit  a shot to move into the lead after sophomore defensemen Blake Lori hit his first goal of his career in the GCHSHL league to make it a 2-1 game for the Hudson Explorers.

Nearly five minutes in the final period, Robbie Rodgers of Midview hits the back of the net to make it a tied up game at 2-2, but seconds later Max Cole hits a short handed goal to put the Explorers back on top 3 to 2.

Hudson moves on in the Baron Cup to verse number one rank Shaker Heights.
